This plant is mostly known for it’s anti-fungal properties. Emperor’s candlestick is known to treat ringworms and other fungal infections. Crush the leaves into a paste and apply topically to infected area. Area may be secured with a bandage.

A distinctive feature to this plant are the leaves closing up at night, and only reopening in daylight.
