Also known as Senna alata and ringworm shrub.

This plant is mostly known for it’s anti-fungal properties. Emperor’s candlestick is known to treat ringworms and other fungal infections. Crush the leaves into a paste and apply topically to infected area. Area may be secured with a bandage.

Emperor’s candlestick also has laxative, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

A distinctive feature to this plant are the leaves closing up at night, and only reopening in daylight.
